ISblue HUB

Guidelines

OBJECTIVE

ISblue aims to help train the next generation of innovators and leaders in marine science and technology.

This new HUB Call for Proposals will support ISblue students in taking initiatives and “learning by doing”, deploying their skills and creativity in the realisation of innovative projects. These projects will be supported and carried out within the common framework of the HUB, allowing students to access material resources, consumables, bonuses and small equipment via this AAP in order to support their initiatives and carry out their projects in conjunction with socio-economic actors and local mechanisms (Pôle PEPITE, Disrupt’Campus, FabLabs, UBO OpenFactory, etc.). These projects must be carried out outside of the hours and places of training, in the places provided (for establishments located in Finistère, the HUB welcomes you in its premises within the Pôle Numérique Brest Iroise). The students will be under the supervision of the ISblue HUB manager for the entire duration of their projects.

WHO CAN APPLY

All students attached to ISblue institutions at master’s level, engineers and doctoral students may apply individually or in student associations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

a) In the framework of student entrepreneurship/start-up projects, these projects must demonstrate their potential to generate a new source of socio-economic value creation.

For students already involved in the Fabrik ta Pépite programme proposed by the Pôle PEPITE Bretagne, this call will allow to offer students of the ISblue perimeter a continuum and complementary means to support the realisation of their projects.

NB: Students with projects that have succeeded in achieving their proof of concept thanks to the HUB will be able to apply to the incubation (IMT Atlantique, ENSTA Bretagne) and acceleration (Technopoles de Bretagne, FrenchTech) schemes available to them on the regional or national territory. Ifremer also offers the Octo’pousse competition to select candidates wishing to develop their project within the Institute.

b) In the framework of collaborative projects, the projects supported must have a link with socio-economic partners (industrialists, innovative SMEs, start-ups, associations, foundations, etc.)

TIMETABLE AND FUNDING

The call is open on a rolling basis with an annual budget of 50 K€.
This funding will provide students with a maximum of 10 K€ per project submitted, in support of the needs expressed (e.g.: funding for access to specific means of experimentation, purchase of consumables and small equipment, analysis costs, internship gratifications, excluding salary and indirect costs), enabling students to conduct their project in agile mode, test and validate their hypotheses in iterative cycles until a proof of concept and/or tangible realisation are achieved.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

You will be asked to attach the following documents to your application:

– CV of the student(s) applying

– Letter of support from the socio-economic partner (in case of a collaborative project)
